To source the new lightweight track-capable carbon fiber wheels that are standard on the new Shelby GT350R Mustang, Ford partnered with Australia-based Carbon Revolution. Carbon Revolution first began delivering composite wheels in 2004 for Formula SAE campaigns.

Enabling economies of scale in the manufacturing of series production carbon composite wheels, the partnership will focus on a scalable and localized approach. Hankuk Carbon has been producing composite materials, including carbon fiber textiles and prepregs, since 1984.
