GM had a good run with various Geo-badged Suzukis, Isuzus and Toyotas , too. Things were unsettled around the far-flung GM Empire during the second half of the 2000s, to put it mildly, and North American Suzuki dealers were moving a significant amount of Daewoo-built iron in the immediate aftermath of Daewoo Motor America's demise.

But it is a price that must be paid, and GM should be commended for remaining committed to the Volt. It isa fundamental change in direction for GM. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. GM is developing more fuel-efficient vehicles. Thats short-sighted.
