Today’s vehicle designs proliferate with sensitive electronics, including electronic controls, infotainment, sensing, battery packs, battery management, electric vehicle powertrains, and on-board chargers. These parts are needed to convert the AC voltage into the DC voltage to charge the vehicle’s on-board battery.

Scientist have confirmed that unlike gasoline cars, plug-ins will get cleaner as they get older -- because our power grid is getting cleaner. California Air Resources Board studies show that battery electric vehicles emit at least 67% lower greenhouse gases than gasoline cars -- even more assuming renewables.

The MiEV runs on a lithium-ion battery pack that can be charged in seven or so hours on a 240-volt line. with battery suppliers A123Systems and EnerDel Inc. The Think City was short-lived in the States with production halting in 2002 after just 1005 cars had been assembled. Think has even shown a convertible prototype.
