Audi AG announced that Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg has reached a mutual agreement with the Supervisory Board to step down as Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development. The move comes as Volkswagen AG continues to work to address the diesel engine emissions cheating scandal.

The Volkswagen Group is continuing its restructuring in the aftermath of the diesel engine emissions scandal. He moved to Saab as Executive Director Design in 2000 and was also given responsibility for Advanced Design at General Motors Europe in 2003. He began his career at Audi in Ingolstadt in 1987.
