It occurred in the wake of the California electricity crisis of 2000 and 2001, when mismanaged deregulation, market manipulation, and environmental catastrophe combined to unhinge the power grid. In such an emergency, a bidirectional EV with charge to spare could come to the rescue. AC Propulsion’s experiment was timely.

A distance of 923 km using DC fast charging infrastructure. I wasn't feeling too hungry, so I continued sitting in the car and munching on the greens that I had purchased during the morning ride. We then went on to do a slow charge upto 100%. Was 2000 hrs by then. Udaipur is the local minima of the Aravali range.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles.
