The transportation sector accounted for approximately 19% of global black carbon emissions in the year 2000, according to the report. Global black carbon emissions from transportation by region among top 10 motorized regions, 2000-2050. Black carbon has been found to be second to carbon dioxide in terms of its climate forcing.
