Increased sales for hybrids and PHEVs. Renewable fuel use grows at a much faster rate than fossil fuel use. The share of electricity generation from renewables grows to 16% in 2040 from 13% in 2011. Biofuels grow at a slower rate due to lower crude oil prices and. quadrillion Btu in 2011 to 14.0 than in AEO2012.
