In a post on Toyota’s Open Road blog, Irv Miller, Toyota Group Vice President – Environmental and Public Affairs, wrote that contrary to some recent reports, Toyota has yet to offer mileage estimates on its plug-in hybrid technology. They are very early “converted” prototypes using double nickel-metal hydride batteries.

just pondering another Plug-in Hybrid EV EVdventure of sorts per the new 2010 Prius PHEV press release. The Prius PHEV has already made its European debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show debut, and Toyota is doing its American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Today we could be using lead-acid EVs, lead-carbon-acid EVs, or nickel metal hydride or lithium-ion hybrids. Toyota still has not made any money on the Prius. Glad to see the variety & availability of electic commuter cars (vs hybrids & PHEV) is rising. They will not meet my needs. aren’t there yet.
