At low speeds (under 18 miles per hour) the Sequoia hybrid can roll along in electric-only mode, but quickly adds the gasoline engine when you step on the accelerator, returning to EV mode when you lift off the pedal. Toyota gave us time on an off-road course with some up-and-down sections, a water feature and an open dirt track.
