Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, has installed an off-grid solar tracker EV charging station for its employees. The company asserts that over its expected 25-year life, the system locks in 1 million miles of EV charging with minimal operating and maintenance costs.

Production of the 2014 model year Prius Plug-in begins in October with pricing taking effect when these models arrive in showrooms in November.The Prius Plug-in qualifies for a Federal Tax Credit of up to $2,500 in addition to the State of California’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Program (CVRP) which offers a $1,500 rebate.

The Standard Range has a driving range of 240 miles, while the RWD gets either 305 and 361 miles depending if shod with 20-inch or 18-inch tires. The AWD driving range is 316 miles with the 18-inch tire and 270 miles with 20-inch tires. The 361-mile all-electric driving range is very appealing in the RWD model.
