One key element that I couldn’t control but which turned out to be a pleasant surprise was the price. As equipped (and neither were base models) these $60,000+ SUVs were with $2,000 of each other, which in the price range is a rounding error. As far as I was concerned, they were at price parity. My situation was a real choice.

In 297 miles of mostly freeway driving through Southern California we averaged 22.1 mpg, but did a bit better on a 207-mile freeway run with the smart cruise control set at 65 mph, achieving 25.1 Pricing and Warranties. Base prices, before options but including the $1,185 freight charge, range from $33,860 to $49,085.

Fuel economy numbers have not been announced, but the same gasoline-hybrid power plant in the Toyota Tundra pickup gets 20 mpg city/24 highway/22 combined. Pricing, Availability and Warranties. This 160-mile drive spotlighted the handling, driving characteristics and performance. In our mixed driving, which had significant motor regeneration due to mountain elevation and tight curves, we averaged 4 miles per kilowatt-hour (kWh). Brief Summary: the Air Touring is an exceptional all-electric luxury sedan.

In 236 miles of driving through Southern California, and using the adaptive cruise control when on the freeway, we averaged 26.7 Pricing and Warranties. Base prices, before options but including the $1,175 destination charge, range from $33,275 to $47,275.
