EVs assembled in a foreign country — whether Canada, Mexico, Japan, Germany, South Korea or elsewhere — would not be eligible for any level of tax credit. One interesting affect of the MSRP cap is that some OEMs may move up launch dates of their lower-priced trims if that brings the model underneath the applicable MSRP cap.
