If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. Think of driving any vehicle in the hot Los Angeles summer time. The mines in Canada where the nickel & cadmium are mined is one of the most polluted places on Earth. The EV1s failure was a failure of Management.
