The e-motor also provides regenerative braking to recharge the battery, and there’s an integrated 33 kW (44 hp) starter-generator as well. The e-Save button also toggles to invoke Battery Charge, which recharges the pack using engine power. In part, that’s because this is a remarkably heavy vehicle for a 100 kW motor to move.

That equates to $59,990 plus on-road costs for the single specification currently slated for Australia and a claimed ADR-certified range of 511km between recharges. The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. because most of GMs profits comes from after market parts.
