ARPA-E awards $37M for IONICS projects; improving solid-state batteries and fuel cells

The US Department of Energy (DOE) Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) announced $37 million in funding for 16 innovative new projects as part of a new ARPA-E program: Integration and Optimization of Novel Ion-Conducting Solids ( IONICS ). Li-ion conductors that enable the cycling of Li metal without shorting.
