It’s really up to the battery manufacturers and the automakers as to which physical configuration to use, and then of course the internal chemistry configuration. Solid-state, lithium-sulfur, sodium batteries—would all of these still be using graphite in the anode? Sodium batteries, for example, may have great cold-weather performance.
