Endesa, Spain’s largest utility, has developed a prototype V2G (Vehicle to Grid) charger that enables electric vehicles to return stored power to the grid. In addition to selling vehicle power to the electricity market, users will be able to use the electricity from their vehicles to power their homes.

Siemens is currently installing the first Sitras SES (stationary energy storage) Energy Storage Unit with supercapacitor technology in the US on the new TriMet Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Line. American Maglev Technology (AMT) is installing supercapacitor-based braking energy recuperation systems on the TriMet light rail vehicles.
