It will be the first purely electrically powered production vehicle from the Kecskemét plant in Hungary. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) with the optional package. Its maximum speed is limited to 220 km/h (137 mph). After the EQA, the EQB is the second all-electric compact car from Mercedes-EQ.

Technologies such as plate honing are used during assembly of the V8 at the Audi plant in Györ, Hungary. Because there is no coolant flow at all through the engine, the oil reaches its operating temperature more quickly, shortening the phase in which high frictional losses occur.
