Toyota Motor Sales, USA will conduct a voluntary safety recall involving approximately 87,000 model year 2010 Toyota Prius and Lexus HS 250h vehicles. The involved vehicles are equipped with a brake pressure accumulator that may develop a fatigue crack on an internal part due to vibration.

As part of what has become a global recall of the third-generation Prius, Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA Inc, will conduct a voluntary safety recall on approximately 133,000 2010 Model Year Prius vehicles and 14,500 Lexus Division 2010 HS 250h vehicles to update software in the vehicle’s anti-lock brake system (ABS).

Total combined Toyota and Lexus hybrid vehicle sales in the US have topped the one million mark, according to Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA. Overall, cumulative worldwide sales of Toyota and Lexus hybrids have exceeded 1.7 Toyota launched of the Prius in late 1997 in the Japan market, and in the US in July 2000.

has received about 1,500 preorders for its Lexus HS hybrid car ( earlier post ) in Japan, roughly three times more than the firm’s monthly sales target. Meanwhile, Toyota’s new Prius hybrid, released in May, has been selling extremely well. Given this, some eager customers may switch their existing orders to the Lexus HS.
