The 2010 HS 250h, Lexus’ first dedicated hybrid and the fourth offering in its lineup ( earlier post ), will carry an MSRP for the standard version of $34,200, while the Premium model will carry an MSRP of $36,970. The HS 250h has the best combined EPA mpg rating of any luxury vehicle in the US.

Lincoln’s premium hybrid is expected to deliver at least 41 mpg US (5.7 Ford notes that the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid’s projected fuel economy tops its nearest competitor—the 2010 Lexus HS 250h—by 6 mpg, while providing room for one more passenger and more standard luxury and segment-exclusive safety features. Toyota has unveiled the Sai compact luxury hybrid sedan in Japan ( earlier post ); the vehicle, based on the platform used for the Lexus HS 250h ( earlier post ), is planned to go on sale in Japan on 7 December. km/L (54 mpg US, 4.4 mpg US, 5.1 The new platform was developed for medium/compact vehicles.

Lincoln’s 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid ( earlier post ) now officially carries an EPA-certified 41 mpg rating in city driving and 36 mpg on the highway, making it the officially the most fuel-efficient luxury sedan in the US. It tops its nearest competitor—the 2010 Lexus HS 250h—by 6 mpg.
