Demand response programs are an increasingly popular and inventive ways for utilities to ensure grid stability during peak usage. Whenever the grid usage is at its peak, the utility notifies the customer of a demand response event. V2L is currently included on EVs such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ford F-150 Lightning, and Rivian R1T.

Currently, there are some industrial facilities that use battery swapping to replenish the energy stores of electric forklifts.
