Sales of the Mercedes S400 BlueHybrid may receive a boost in the US, after the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) designated the 2010 version of the model to be eligible for the Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit as a qualified hybrid motor vehicle. The car will be eligible for a tax credit up to $1,500.

The Civic GX was actually first introduced in 1998 and is the cleanest internal combustion vehicle certified by the EPA - it is around 90 per cent cleaner than the average petrol powered car.
