UK-based materials company Ilika, also a developer of solid-state batteries, is taking part in a three-year project to develop protected anodes for lithium sulfur batteries, led by Johnson Matthey Plc and supported by Innovate UK and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

BASF to Commercialize Argonne Li-ion Composite Cathode Material; Seeks Funds for Plant in Ohio

The US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Argonne National Laboratory and BASF have signed a world-wide licensing agreement to mass produce and market Argonne’s patented composite cathode materials to manufacturers of advanced lithium-ion batteries. BASF currently offers a high-energy Lithium Nickel Cobalt Oxide ( LNCO ) cathode material.
