The Mayor is supporting proposals for the UK Government to help motorists by offering between a £1,000 and £2,000 (US$1,614 to US$3,228) grant per vehicle for the most polluting diesels which are more than 12 months old. London ranked 9 th on the health impacts index, 15 th on the citywide index and 17 th on the traffic focused index.

Among the many policy and funding details in the UK Plan for Tackling Roadside Nitrogen Dioxide Concentrations , produced by Defra and the Department for Transport is the cessation of the sale of all new conventional gasoline and diesel cars by 2040. 11M – Air Quality Grant. 1B – Ultra low emissions vehicles.
