Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Mass., Cessna Aircraft Company-Cessna Citation, Wichita, Kan., Hybrid electric propulsion also has the potential to shorten takeoff distance and reduce noise. The MIT team is moving forward with work on its “double bubble” airplane design.
