The accelerating pace of electric vehicle launches has brought us to this: The first Jeep in the US to get a plug-in hybrid version is the legendary Wrangler. The two couldn’t be more different.

Currently, there are some industrial facilities that use battery swapping to replenish the energy stores of electric forklifts. The whole operation could take less than five minutes, pretty much the same amount of time many people spend filling their gas tanks at stations today. One of the main drawbacks to charge stations is speed.

We also found magazines ( Utne Reader anyone?) I pulled an old issue of Sierra (the magazine of the Sierra Club) from July/August 1997. The USA got the leap on everyone else with solar, wind and other fossil free energy as well as electric cars and other alternative fuel vehicles. CDs and Blueray DVD movies and documentaries.

The Volt is, and always has been, more than than an electric car. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. Ive found it facinating how car commercials changed the main MPG number they promoted before gas went over $4 a gallon as city miles.
