Responding to growing customer demand in Europe for small cars with low running costs and low emissions, Kia is introducing a bi-fuel gasoline-LPG model to its Picanto small car range. The new variant, introduced at the Frankfurt show, will record fuel economy in LPG mode of 5.8 liter gasoline model.

The Charger will also have a version with a gasoline engine (the electric one is the “Daytona”)—but every version of the EV will outperform its gasoline counterpart. The new Charger, electric and gasoline, is built on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform shared with other models from Jeep, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, and Maserati.

The Environmental Protection Agency, EPA , rates fuel economy at 40 highway when running in gasoline mode only. That number jumps to 105 MPGe, or miles per gallon equivalent, when combining electricity and gasoline. Clean Fleet Report ran a few test loops to get a feel for real world fuel economy and electric range.
