The primary objective of conventional hydrotreating is to remove impurities present in petroleum feedstocks, such as sulfur and nitrogen, via the addition of hydrogen. Another area of refining cost is the hydrogen consumption, which is required for taking the oxygen out of the natural feedstocks. RIMPAC and Green Fleet demo.
