As the brainchild of Hugo Spowers, a former motorsport engineer and racing driver, Riversimple was formed in 1999 after Spowers left the glittering world of racing when he become concerned for the environmental impact of his chosen industry. There are technical hurdles still to overcome if you want a Ferrari, but not for a Ford Focus.
