PHEVLERs are defined as PHEVs with sufficient battery capacity for all electric driving of twice the average daily distance. [ 1 ] The average daily driving distance in the USA is 30 miles (48 km), so PHEVLERs are vehicles with at least 60 miles (97 km) of electric range. PHEVLERs make our electric grid more efficient. [

Grants of between £2,000 and £5,000 will be available toordinary motorists to encourage them to buy electric or otherultra-low-carbon cars. The grants will not be available until 2011 and the detail of how they will beallocated and which cars will qualify has still to be worked out. Car buyers were less enthusiastic.
