As we wait for Congress to fully return from their recess and vote on various legislation, I continue to be extremely concerned about how as much as $10 billion in federal government grants will be be spent on EV charging infrastructure. In short, I’m predicting what I call the “overcharging of America.”.

Converting the GSE from fossil fuel to electric, each year the project is projected to save $2.8 The port has installed bright yellow charging corrals with smart, fast-charging plug-ins for vehicles to receive a full charge in less than 4 hours. The $31-million project is funded in large part through federal grants.

Reuters reports that Chrysler has disbanded its ENVI team, formed in 2007 to bring electric-drive vehicles and related advanced-propulsion technologies to market. ClipperCreek, an Auburn, CA based manufacturer of electric vehicle charging equipment, has just announced the shipment of its 5,000th unit. Some of those units are being paid for by a California Energy Commission grant to upgrade existing Avcon charging stations across California. What's the problem?

Plug-in cars are being delivered at long last. Electric Vehicle Service Equipment (EVSE) home wall units are priced at between about $1000 and $2500. Is it as complex and time-consuming a process as has been experienced by many new owners of plug-in cars? All plug-in cars these days come with a 120-volt charge cord.
