News: 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ EV Cadillac’s Biggest SUV Goes All-Electric Cadillac has jumped to the head of the class by announcing the 2025 Escalade IQ will be the most luxurious full-size, three-row, seven-passenger electric SUV when it debuts in late 2024.

The all-new 2021 Cadillac Escalade Duramax is big and famous for being the ride of celebrities. It was my first experience driving an Escalade (I have been chauffeured in them). I have driven several Chevrolet and GMC vehicles with the wonderful Duramax turbodiesel engine, so expectations were high for a luxury week behind the wheel.

The Optiq will enter the automaker’s lineup as a compact electric SUV, slotting in beneath the Lyriq and flagship Escalade IQ. It features the brand’s signature vertical LED running lights and a muscular shape that mirrors the larger Lyriq. The same technologies underpin the Lyriq, Escalade IQ, and ultra-luxury Celestiq EVs.

General Motors, the parent company of Cadillac, announced by the year 2035 they will only be selling zero-emission vehicles.

It is the third best-selling SUV for Cadillac, coming in behind the larger Escalade and XT5, but ahead of the XT6 and Lyriq EV. Clean Fleet Report was driving the XT4 Premium Luxury, where the narrow LED headlamps squint from the outer edges of the fenders, bordered by the signature vertical LED daytime running lights.

The RWD configuration gets one motor producing 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque for a 312-mile all-electric driving range and 0-60 mph in about 4.9 The AWD will have two motors that kicks it up to 550 horsepower (driving range not yet released). From front-to-rear the Lyriq’s lighting accentuates the beautiful design.
