The BYD e6 electric vehicle ( earlier post ) will now be available for consumer purchases in China; previously, the e6 was only available for fleet purchases. This is the first domestic all-electric vehicle for sale to consumers in China. million fleet miles (or 6 million km).

Founded in 2003, Silicon Valley based Tesla Motors is currently the only car manufacturer in the US or Europe manufacturing and selling highway capable electric vehicles in serial production. It has garnered more attention in recent years thanks to a collaboration with NICE to produce electric vehicles such as the NICE Mega City.
