Chevys volt is exactly what a family with kids would need, as is the Tesla model S, and yea, theyre both pricey. The reason theyre starting with high priced sports cars is because aiming at that market is the easiest way for them to fund R&D and scale up production so they can make smaller more practical EVs for the masses.
