This is respectable fuel economy for an AWD, 4,400-pound, six-passenger crossover. In addition, we are often invited to manufacturer events highlighting new vehicles or technology. Smooth yet grippy.

The “wet” part of a DCT means it uses oil to improve lubrication and cooling. A “dry” DCT does not use oil, but is the more fuel efficient of the two types. The Maverick EcoBoost was not designed to be a heavy-duty work truck, but more for the weekend warrior/home owner doing DIY projects or used for active lifestyles for activities such as biking and kayaking. Fuel Economy King in a Not-So-Small Pickup. This compact pickup is smaller than the mid- and full-size trucks roaming our streets, but size alone doesn’t explain how it sips fuel. The EPA has rated the Maverick Hybrid’s fuel economy at 42 mpg city/33 highway and 37 combined. A smaller, but not small pickup.

According to the Ford marketing team we spoke with at a recent media launch event, their target buyer will be young, female, Hispanic, and urban, including a full hybrid model that may get up to 40 mpg (it hasn’t been certified by the EPA at press time). So who does Ford think will buy the all-new 2022 Maverick? Not standing tall.

It allow for that on-demand water heater you were probably considering too, the more extravagant systems use close to 150 amps but only part-time and you won’t need that capacity when you’re asleep. And if you’re going electric a dedicated circuit panel in your garage wouldn’t be inconceivable.
