BAE Series-ER (Electric Range) systems will operate on 68 transit buses and support designated green zone routes throughout San Francisco that are free of emissions. BAE’s series hybrid system features no mechanical link between the diesel engine and the axle. All power comes from the electric motor. Initial SF Muni Green Zone routes.

The project will replace 190 older diesel school buses with hybrid electric school buses to be used in school districts throughout Kentucky. New vehicles to be deployed include 55 CNG vehicles, 363 propane vehicles, 89 hybrid electric vehicles, and 56 neighborhood electric vehicles. Total DOE award: $14,999,927.
