Another three are on the West Coast and in Hawaii: Seattle (4), Portland (5), and Honolulu (6). Georgia has a tax credit worth up to $5,000 for zero-emissions vehicles. Honolulu, with 26 quick chargers, has one of densest charging grids in the US. Oregon has a Chief EV Officer to promote EV use. Chicago and Denver (tied).

The partnership, which was announced at the Asia Pacific Clean Energy Summit and Expo in Honolulu, marks Nissan’s first definitive agreement in the United States, the company said. Nissan is committing to bringing a supply of Nissan LEAF electric vehicles to Hawaii and readying the dealer body to sell and lease them to consumers.
