Electric trucks created in Washington, Tyne & Wear are today on the roads of Washington DC. Coca-Cola, Staples, Frito-Lay, AT&T, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and Kansas City Power & Light (KCP&L) are the first Newton customers in the USA. It can be recharged in six hours.

Smith Electric Vehicles US delivered the first electric Newton trucks—the largest commercially available battery-electric-powered truck—to four Fortune 500 companies and two utility companies in an event hosted at the Capitol Reflecting Pool on the National Mall in Washington DC. Street Light/Utility Pole Chargers: Several cities including Kansas City and Los Angeles have begun deploylng or will install soon, EV chargers mounted on utility and street light poles. And expect to see more and more restaurants and coffee shops such as Starbucks add DC fast chargers to their locations.
