Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. We Promote PHEV Conversion Programs: First CalCars in 2004, then a number of aftermarket companies, have converted over 200 cars — at first most were for fleets, but more and more are going to individual owners.

This converted Toyota Prius is another type of Plug-in --a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle). RAR also received help from an east coast Tesla Roadster owner who converted his Tesla Motors High Power Connector (HPC) assembly that can handle up to 70 Amps of current from a 240-VAC single phase source.
