California Energy Commission to award up to $3M to support development of bio-oil as intermediate for renewable jet fuel

Applicants must site a demo facility in California that will produce a minimum of 50,000 gallons of bio-oil intermediate fuel over the term of the project. The CEC will hold a pre-application workshop on 25 August. Suggest solutions on how to minimize the costs. Background. The deadline to submit applications is 13 October 2017.

LanzaTech receives $3M contract from FAA for alcohol-to-jet project; one of 8 awards worth total of $7.7M

These alcohols are then converted, using technology from LanzaTech’s partner Swedish Biofuels, to jet fuel that is fully equivalent to petroleum jet fuel, or that can be blended with petroleum. The pathway to jet fuel with alcohol as an intermediate is proving to be a versatile way of producing advanced hydrocarbon fuels.
