Azure Dynamics Corporation announced 29 new Ford Transit Connect Electric sales, including 8 units in Europe and 21 units in North America, which includes a 3-unit reorder from Johnson Controls, Inc. Mission Valley Ford in San Jose, CA (2 units). These sales include: Van Bortel Ford in Rochester, NY. Hawk Ford in Oak Lawn, IL.

New Flyer Industries has selected BAE Systems’ HybriDrive HDS300 propulsion system to power a fleet of new 60-foot, low-floor rapid transit buses for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) in San Jose, California. The simple design of the MTS reduces the cost of maintenance as well as the overall life cycle cost.

They even had a real plug connected to their toy car on the exhibit hall. It’s in fleet lease use in Japan already and I have confidence they’ll be producing them and selling them to actual people. Another thing happening right now is the Plug-In movement addressing fleet vehicles.
