The aim of the product is to produce a high power electrical storage system for hybrid racing cars that can achieve deep levels of discharge without degrading its performance. It will be named the Flywheel Capacitor and will consist of a high speed carbon fibre flywheel connected to a high-speed electric motor generator.

The production-based cells of the new hybrid storage system are serially connected. The energy stored by the system is generated by an MGU (Motor Generator Unit) at the front axle. At the same time, the speed of the LMP1 race cars continually increases. The shutoff logic includes crash detection.
