Used Priuses, especially the Generation 2 that were made from 2004 to 2009 are becoming a bargain to buy, especially for the MPG and features you get in return. The official fuel consumption is 5 l/100 km (47 mpg US) and that is bang on for us as well. l/100 km (51 mpg US) in the summer, and 5.3 l/100 km (44 mpg US) in winter.

The EPA rated the Santa Cruz’ fuel economy at 19 mpg city/27 highway/22 combined. 4-cylinder that gets 21 mpg city/26 highway/23 combined with front-wheel drive, and 21/27/23 mpg with AWD. When at the dealer, make sure to turn on the lights to see the unique and great looking LED lighting scheme. The light show.

The narrow LED head, daytime running, fog and tail lights allowed the designers to take up as little real estate as possible, making for a sleek look. The redesigned grille with LED accent lighting is not overly large, but the Mazda badge is probably the largest on any in the company’s line-up. Ready to rack up the miles.

The Maverick EcoBoost was not designed to be a heavy-duty work truck, but more for the weekend warrior/home owner doing DIY projects or used for active lifestyles for activities such as biking and kayaking. The EcoBoost was good for a 6.2 second 0-60 mph time.

According to the Ford marketing team we spoke with at a recent media launch event, their target buyer will be young, female, Hispanic, and urban, including a full hybrid model that may get up to 40 mpg (it hasn’t been certified by the EPA at press time). For these purposes, it is a viable option to a larger truck or a compact crossover.
