This past week not only had the usual automaker electrification declarations and teases of EVs to come such as the Kia EV6 and Lexus LF-Z concept EV, but we had a huge April Fools’ joke from Volkswagen. It also has up to 800V charging, which allows ultrafast charging from 10–80% in just 18 minutes. Automakers and Models.

Weve kept the summary table below generally up-to-date for passenger PHEVs, but not for BEVs, motorcycles or larger vehicles like buses and trucks. Showed BlueZERO E-CELL PLUS series PHEV concept in December 08. Has shown some concept fuel-cell PHEVs. In late 2008, BYD started selling the first production PHEV in China.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles.
