Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing launched the latest development of their cooperation at the Miami International Boat Show (14-18 February 2013). Numerous components from the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive ( earlier post ) have been integrated in the design of the “Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept” engineering design.

Achates Power, which is developing a family of two-stroke, compression-ignition (CI) opposed-piston (OP) engines, has designed and is developing a light-duty diesel concept engine, the OP4. Benchmarked against the Mercedes-Benz 1.8-liter Fuel consumption of the OP4 (left) and the Mercedes-Benz OM651 (right).
