Transportation accounts for only 27 percent of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in the U.S.; This is due to the 30 to 40 percent increase in emissions EVs create in comparison to manufacturing an ICE vehicle, mainly from its battery production.

That way you have a fair basis of comparison, you know, apples to apples and all that jazz. Ive found it facinating how car commercials changed the main MPG number they promoted before gas went over $4 a gallon as city miles. Going from 12MPG to 15.8MPG saves more gas than going from 50MPG to 500MPG.
