Aptera – US-based company claims to have created the world’s most efficient vehicle with the three-seat F1-inspired Aptera. No Australian plans yet, with the company focusing on America first then Europe. BMW M cars – they’re coming with hybrid drivetrains. Soon, apparently.

About $750 million is needed for near-term Volt development, according to the company. The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. But GM says it wont get the money until the Obama administration is satisfied the company is financially viable. Sorry the market killed the EV1.
