The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a $105-million loan guarantee to Fulcrum Sierra BioFuels, LLC to finance development of a facility to convert municipal solid waste into advanced biofuels. The Sierra BioFuels Plant will be located approximately 20 miles east of Reno, Nevada in Storey County.

to Fulcrum Sierra Biofuels, LLC to build a biorefinery to produce jet fuel from municipal solid waste (MSW) via a proprietary two-stage thermochemical process. During the gasification process, the prepared MSW feedstock rapidly heats up upon entry into the steam-reforming gasifier and almost immediately converts to syngas.

GM investing $6.6B in Michigan to ramp up battery cell and electric truck manufacturing

The investment includes construction of a new Ultium Cells battery cell plant in Lansing with LG and the conversion of GM’s assembly plant in Orion Township, Michigan for production of the Chevrolet Silverado EV and the electric GMC Sierra. GM projects it will convert 50% of its North American assembly capacity to EV production by 2030.
