We’ve heard about Red Sea supply disruptions before, but these are different than those we’ve experienced in the past. To reach the Red Sea, ships must travel through the Gulf of Aden and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait off the coast of Yemen. And so, Tesla will see significant delays in supply of vehicle parts to its Berlin factory.

Tesla Giga Berlin recently announced a temporary production halt from January 29 to February 11 due to the conflict in the Red Sea. “The armed conflicts in the Red Sea and the associated shifts in transport routes between Europe and Asia via the Cape of Good Hope are also having an impact on production in Gruenheide.
