Considered by many to be the ultimate eco-car, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation finally unveiled the production version of the i-MiEV as part of World Environment Day in Tokyo. The i-MiEV uses a three-way charging system that allows the drive battery to be charged at home or when on the move.

The all-electric i MiEV city car is now helping Police Forces across the UK to crack down on crime whilst cracking down on CO2 emissions. The i MiEV in full police livery was showcased at the National Police Show in September, where it drew the crowds.

The title of WhatGreenCar Car of the Year 2009 has been awarded to the ‘next generation’ Toyota Prius, due to be launched in the UK on 1 st August 2009. The new Prius was chosen from a short-list of 10 green car finalists which were test-driven at Imperial College, London, by six of the UK’s leading green transport and environmental experts.
